We walked a good seven miles today around Canada's capital. We began our walking at the Museum of History and then crossed the Ottawa River and started a scavenger hunt at The ByTown Museum. After a quick check in at the dorms at The University of Ottawa, groups hit downtown for dinner and of course 'Sugar Mountain' before visiting the National Art Gallery. The Tulip Festival starts tomorrow, so we have an added bonus of color to our trip. Stay tuned for Day 2.

With sleep behind us(or lack of :)), we headed off to Commissioner's Park to see more of the Tulip festival. The Tulip is a symbol of International friendship. The festival in Ottawa is the largest in North America. After a nice morning walk through the park, we were off to The Canadian War Museum. About to head home...Thank you to our amazing chaperones Steve Mundell, Ray Chamberland, Lanie Kanat, Carol Sullivan, Andy Kelly, Mary Morrissey, Jenn Roberge, Gina Howard, Phil Surks, Paul Gale, Paul Allard, Hannah Deene, Pam Clark, Terry Johansson, Jessica Adams, Gerald Stockman, and Jennifer Pontius. We could not have done this without your support. A huge thank you to our chaperone's Jennifer Roberge and Pam Clark who led the fundraising effort and to all of the individual families who made donations to make this trip accessible to all. Finally, a thank you to the students for being such an amazing group to travel with. You represented, BRMS, Vermont and the USA with positive character and respect.
